My eyes closed. And slowly I drifted off to sleep, my dreams of turmoil.
My eyes opened to a glowing orb.
"Hey! Wake up Link! The Great Deku Tree has summoned you!" it got closer to me, sitting on my chest, now I could see a small girl, smiling at me. "come on get up!" I sat up and she took to the air, I ran over and threw on clothes turning back to her. "My name is Navi! I'm your fairy!"
She was my Fairy? I finally got to have a fairy? She was my partner?
I smiled, then slowly frowned. What did the The Great Deku Tree want from me? I was only a Kokiri. Did he want to congratulate me on finally earning my Fairy?
"Hey! Come on!" Navi said frowning at me.
I grabbed my hat and ran outside. Then there was my best friend ran up to my house.
"Link!" She called my name with a smile on her face. and I smiled back. as I started to climb down the ladder that connected my tree house to the world below.
But why was everything fading?
"Saria?" I tried to speak but no words came out of my mouth. Then I was falling, trying to reach out to her, but I was falling past her, her smile still plastered on her face. she still spoke, as if I was still there, Navi flew around playing with her Fairy, how could she not tell that I wasn't there?
Now I was looking at a evil beast, raised over me about to kill me. suddenly a golden arrow came and stuck him.
"Get the Master Sword Link! Kill him!" A girl with a crown on her head yelled. It was Zelda! I took up my sword and thrust inward my sword piercing the beasts head. it stared at me, wide eyed as if it was stunned that I had slain it. A blast of light surrounded me as the monster was being sucked into a large Gate.
"I shall come back! I'll kill all your descendents!" A man said as his beast form faded around him. "Hyrule shall be mine!"
I smiled and turned back to the sad princess.
"Link."
"Link! You dumbass wake up!"
I rolled over. Half opening my eye I saw a small orb of light. "Navi?" I said my throat thick with sleep.
"No you dumbass! Mark!" the purple ball landed right in front of me and I saw the little man that always called me stupid. I swatted at him.
"Go away Mark let me sleep."
"But Maru's here! So is Lady Sage! Even Queen Zelda is here! Dumbass there all waiting for you to wake up!" Mark bounced onto my head. "You look a mess! Sheesh! Did you fight a Stafos and loose?"
"Arg!" I swatted at him again and pulled the pillow over my head, trying my best to ignore the sad excuse for a Fairy.
"Link." A soft voice whispered to me. I pulled the pillow from my head and saw Nami smiling at me. "Your friend is here, with royalty do you really want to keep two Queens waiting on a sleepy head child like you?"
"Hey I'm probably older than you." I said sitting up.
"Oh you a pretty girl can get you up but not me!" Mark pouted as I looked down at what I was wearing. My tights and my undershirt, my tunic, hat, gloves, and shoes where on the base of the bed, and I stood grabbing them and quickly putting them on. Then as I fit the hat to my head, I turned to Nami.
"Thank you for your hospitality. And I don't mean to be rude, but, where am I?" I finally got my hat on just right and Mark sat down on my shoulder still pouting.
Some Faries never learn.
"Oh, your near Kokiri Forest, actually your in-between Kakariko Village and Kokiri Forest.  It's a small mixed raced village called Kirintsumi." She smiled. "It's a place where there are runaway Kokiri's, some you may know, because we never age in the forest under the protection of the Great Deku Tree. Only outside are we able to age." Melin closed her eyes. "Mido even came here once. I doubt you'll find him here. He doesn't like it."
Mido, the one who I always fought with, he came here? He was still alive?
Again, Nami seemed to read my thoughts. "The Kokiri didn't change. They remain the same throughout changes in time."
"Then why did you change?" I asked.
"I didn't, I just grew up." Nami smiled. "That time, was still yesterday for me."
I blinked. She was still the girl I grew up with? But more importantly the Kokiri still remember me?
"I decided to leave, and come here, this place is secluded from the Hylian field, so it wasn't effected by the time stream change either. The only places that really did change where the places that you came in contact with both when you where a child and an adult." Nami walked over and fixed my hat, I blushed.
"So, why didn't Kokiri change?" I asked, again.
"Because of the Great Deku Tree's power. We are immune to changes in time. I guess you could say Farore protects us. I'm not sure. The fact is most of us in this village are different Remembrances. I was the one from this time shift." nami pulled her hands back.
"there has been more than one time shift?" I cocked my head.
"Each one you failed." She said seriously.
I recoiled and fell back onto my bed, Mark took to the air. Nami burst out laughing.
"I'm just kidding oh goddess I wish you could have seen your face!" She held her hips while she laughed.
I frowned. "That's not funny Nami!" ah, now I remembered, Nami always liked to play pranks on me, she tortured Mido, but played mean pranks on me, then she always laughed the way she was doing right now. As she regained her composure, people started coming into the room, first Raiz who looked over Nami like she had a Cukoo on her head. Maru who smiled at her, like he had known her his entire life, then Sage/Ruto who looked relived that I was ok. Then lastly Princess Zelda, she had a stern face on, like she had only come because I probably saved many lives by killing Morpha. Maru was the first to come over to me.
"Idiot going off by yourself, you could have killed yourself." He said like a worrying big brother.
"I was going to be fine, I always am. I haven't died yet have I?" I said looking up at him through my hair.
He shook his head. "No but that doesn't mean that you couldn't start."
"I cant go back into time if I died Maru." I said. Then, realizing something I began franticly looking through my tunic.
"Your sword, shield and Orcarina are outside in the living room, have no fear, they will not leave this house unless with you." She said with a cocky smile. I felt my own lips tug at a response smile. I resisted stood, swayed and nearly fell but Maru grabbed my arm.
"Are you sure your alright? If your still sick we can wait a few days." He said with a raised eyebrow, he suspected I was still ill. But I was uneasy from the dream I had had. I knew it was a memory, but that man, I couldn't remember his name. but he was evil and he wanted to kill me, and Zelda, was that one of the reasons Zelda didn't want to come back? because she was scared of that man?
"She's braver than that Link." Nami said giving me a look of disapproval. "Zelda's stronger than that. she's saved your ass a bunch of times already."
I pointed to Maru. "he's not her this time."
MAru flushed. "No! I'm not!"
"I never said your Sheikian companion was her. She wasn't scared of you Link, nor him either. She didn't know how to face herself." Nami eyed the Princess Zelda in the room, but it was not the one we where talking about. "She's alive here. Against her will, alive as a child, a Hylian Maiden. Living in the town. Wanting her name back." Nami glared at the Zelda in the room. "Even though she was given her name."
The other woman frowned.
"If you are talking about the woman with my name in the Village, she lives with a Sheikian man, under my protection from her father. Who beats her. I would be thankful if you didn't speak ill of the child." She frowned and Nami returned it.
"Don't talk down to me your Majesty just because I look like a peasant. I am a proud Kokiri, and I would appreciate it if you didn't talk ill of my true Queen. I only follow her laws. She has braved more than you Queen." Nami hissed.
Sage/Ruto smiled, as if she had only noticed that Nami remembered that other time.
"Cat fight." Mark muttered. Snapping out of his pouting face.
"Silence, even if you have Kokiri blood in you, you are not in that Forest anymore. You are not in the Deku Tree's domain any longer! This is my land, and you shall follow my laws." Zelda glared.
"No, Kirintsumi is my domain. Each time a new Remembrance come into the village they vote on the new Leader. We Kokiri Remembrance rule this area for now. Your opinion has no voice in this town." Nami growled. "Kirintsumi is not Hyrule your Majesty. Kirintsumi is the dominion of the Sages. This place is not for your kind to dwell long."
"My kind? Should you be voicing it to them as a well?" With a graceful wave of her arm she mentioned toward us.
"No, they are Sacred Time Gates. They have a right to be here."
"What?" I asked walking over to my old friend, pushing her gently on the shoulder. "What is a Sacred Time Gate?"
"Its someone who can reopen that other time, not physically of coarse, that is impossible. But with there mind, see things in that world. You though are not one of them." Nami smiled. "You, are the Hero of Time, you hold much more value."
"So I'm a piece to barter with?" I raised my eyebrows.
She laughed again. "No of coarse not Link!" She shoved my chest, she was much shorter than me. "You are the only one who can walk on that sacred ground, you where chosen by Farore herself!"
"We are still here Kokiri." Zelda growled.
"You have no right to be anyways. Say what you want to say to Link and his companions and leave!" Nami grabbed Maru and my arms, holding them close. "I think you should leave and so do the other people in this village."
"Are you sure your not physic as well?" I whispered into her ear.
"Positive, we hate one who claim to be people they are not. If she had a different name and look, we would accept her with open arms. There is no need for Gemini in this world." Nami muttered back.
"Twins are rare indeed." I muttered.  Queen Zelda frowned.
"Link, unspoken hero, I came to congratulate you on your kill, to invite you to my table and eat. But I see that you have, other things to preoccupy your time." She didn't even seem like she meant what she was speaking. "I shall take my leave of this town, I will not bother you again, Kokiri. This place is dead to me." She turned and before exiting the room turned back to face Sage/Ruto. "Queen of Zora, will you not come with?"
Sage/Ruto shook her head. "Beg my leave. But these are my friends, I will not abandon them."
Now Queen Zelda look flustered. She turned back to my friends and I. "You are welcome anytime in Castle Town, and if another monster such as the one that attacked the Zora's appears, may I have the honor of contracting you into service for the crown as a respected mercenary?" She had regained her composure quickly, I must giver her credit, after all she is the queen.
"As you wish Milady, I would love to serve my country as a mercenary." I bowed gallantly, straitening up only when she touched my covered hat. I rose, and she smiled softly, surprising me. I never saw her smile so kindly before.
"Thank you Traveler, your service is much needed in these harsh times, we must pick ourselves up, even as one tragedy befalls each tribe we must help one another. This village is no acceptation. I understand even if this village wants nothing to do with the outside world, that you understand if evil raises it horrid head that we must ban together. We must protect our home." She turned on her heel and began to walk away. "I shall not impose on you any further. Good night Kokiri. I bid you and your village of Kirintsumi good bye."
And then with a slam of the door, she was gone.
